I lived through a teamster strike and an independant strike. Guess what? It did no good then, it will do no good now.
How many different languages do you speak? 'Cause ya gotta let ALL those who don't speak English know that they can't haul your freight 'cause we're on strike.

    Here's my thought.

On blitz week, all the O/O's that normally stay home that week, instead they "demonstrate" at their State Capital bobtail. Show the representatives that we are serious about this. You want to make a statement, then SHOW THEM, don't write them.

SHOW THEM THAT YOU ARE SERIOUS. There is nothing illegal about a demonstration on our behalf.

The only strike that would work would be for wannabes to quit going to CDL mills and starter companies like lambs to the slaughter . A 6 month boycott with no new students would bring bottom feeder carriers to their knees . Rates and pay would have to go up .

Who's to say it's illegal if you are stopping at the capitol to deliver a letter to your representatives. Say....at 8 AM on July 1st......

Why July 1? Why not blitz week? That's when they make a lot of money from violations. You always see it in the news about all the violations they found and the total revenue that they made that week. I'm not saying that some of that isn't justified, but, we all know that there are times when violations that they find are just a money grab.

But there is. First they can say u MUST pay for a permit to demonstrate. Plus, they can keep u away from the capitol buildings with the new laws that were made for Homeland Secrurity. So, out in front of capitol buildings would be a VERY bad idea. They can make it Federal and no one wants that. Be safe out there drivers.

You don't have to take your trucks to demonstrate, you can just take signs. I totally agree with doing it both weeks. if you really want to change things we need to stand up together, as a brother and sisterhood. if everyone starts saving money now and everyone actually does shut down then how could they fire you. I believe it is against the law for any employer to fire anyone for doing a demonstration. It wont hurt your bottom line, it will actually help it in the long run. do you really like being told that you have to rest when you are not tired? Do you really enjoy having to drive when you are tired? How about stopping someplace when there is no place to stop, because you don't have another 30 mins of time to get someplace safe to park. Unless you want to risk a ticket and fine for driving over the limit. Or get written up and having that on your record at your job. That's always a good thing too.
