I think if another strike happened, it would have to be muuuuuch longer than the last. It have to be so long, not even the military, FEMA and any other org would be able to help all the starving people. At that point, no body would probably even remember why everything went into chaos...sorry, but I think a civil war will happen before us truckers actually decide to strike again.

More rules and regs? I think its time for a shut down strike.

Why not "rolling roadblocks"? I drive Ohio. Most of our interstates have a 45 m.p.h. minimum speed limit. If we were to roll these highways at LEGAL minimum speeds what can be done to us? A ticket for impeding traffic? A fine for having a "convoy"? There is no way they have enough law enforcement to pull every last one of us over before the story gets told on the news. No matter company or o/o we need to stand together! If you're a company driver the company can't do much because you're still hauling their freight. If you're an o/o you might save a little bit of fuel but we wouldn't have to go without a paycheck. If there is a law that says we can't do this and they throw us all in jail wouldn't that just help the cause even more. They may have had their freight a few days late but now they won't get it at all with a jailhouse full of drivers. But then again you can't even get 2 drivers to agree on what lane is closed in a construction site let alone try to organize something like this. Its more than just h.o.s.,finding a better company to driver for, or fuel prices. It is the fact that a drivers wages have not had an increase in YEARS. Why should we have to work for free sitting in a dock? Why should we not be paid all miles driven? At 70 hours a week I would be willing to bet we're only paid for MAYBE 50 of those hours. We are screwed everywhere you turn around. From the high prices of things we need at truck stops, lane restrictions, speed limit differences, hours, and being robbed of pay. Why are we arguing for more hours to work per week? Hell we don't get paid for hours we work anyway. I can't figure out why the guy working in a factory puts in his 8 hours a day and can't wait to go home for the day yet drivers work 70 hours a week and want more. I don't want more hours per week I want to be paid for the hours I already work! Sorry for the long rant about this but it is the reality of how we are treated out here and something needs to be done! They can't fire or arrest all of us!

But I'm sure if folks got serious, there's plenty that could be done otherwise.airforcetoo and baddbudd_2000 Thank this. -
I completely agree........rolling road blocks would be dangerous. im not saying we need more hrs, im saying we need to be able to run when we need to, to get our job done so we can be home. I think if we all did just run 45 mph, not side by side, we would get national attention. it would show the government that we are tired of their ####. a complete shut down would get our point across, fast. I do not want to put 4 wheelers lives in danger. I do however want to show the gov we are not playing around anymore. Im sick of all the taking and taking. I say we shut down the week of all the dot checks. and then again when the new hos kick in.
