The majority of drivers I meet are happy, provide for their families etc
omarthebear, if you were in line for walmarts fortune, what would you do?
For Human nature at its best, we would all do the same if we were billionaires, its just business and those who repeatedely bash walmart for low wages are only addressing the lowest of the low people who do nothing for themselves and expect a handout.
SO if you're making $7.55 an hour at walmart, do you think that media attention and ######## and moaning about your low wages are doing anything? as opposed to learning new skills (like, say, truck driving?) to increase your hourly wages?
Landstar8891, you represent the the sentiment of ROOKIES that are in this business, and what you describled is pretty accurate, but I was a rookie myself and earned those piece of crap paychecks at SWIFT at .25 cpm, but I hung on, and hung on and 3 years later things are much much better. I agree that for those starting out, pay conditions are terrible. Some companies pay better at the start (like .30 cpm and better) but companies like swift, cr england etc. actually LOVE rookies so they can milk the crap out of them for profit. Shame.
Isn't it time to strike
