My carrier is mostly non-union. I think all but three terminals are non-union actually. 95% of us are happy with our job and the way we are treated/paid. The other 5% usually retires or does something stupid to get themselves canned. Reasonable compensation should be a standard if you put in 50-70 hours a week.

Thanks to the right to strike you are compensated. You can't possibly not know American history but it appears that way.

Our carrier would replace us in a heartbeat. There are quite a few people lined up to take our jobs. Our wages stay high and so do our benefits despite this. You are right though, I DON'T know all of American history since I am not originally from this country. That's not an appearance, that's a fact. LOL

Have you heard the expression "Houston. We have a problem" ?

Read up on why the right to strike came about and why the right still exists. You'll understand what motivates your company to treat you a certain way. And $1200 a week is not really that much as there are executives who make $1200 a day and have their basic expenses paid.

I just want to know who was the idiot that chose the weekend for this? I work the weekend shift and there is a reason that come friday I can park at just about any truck stop at any time, and why is that?..... Cause most drivers are already home...... DUH!!!!! I mean come on the only reason that the weekend was chosen was so that it didnt effect their pockets any but those of us out here on the weekends are supposed to shut down and take the hit... I am sorry but I have a family to feed and a roof to keep over their heads.

you start by finding a leader, then you have a one day stoppage, every one parks one day no one loses much, that shows solidarity, your leader goes to washington with legit demands, because with a one day you will have their attention, now demands have to be reasonable and legit
