I am posting a link to the comments section on an article from The Washing Post. The whole article can be read by clicking on the heading of the story.

This is a story about the beginning of the weekend trucker protest on Washington, and the effects so far. It's plain to see the commenters have zero idea about the rules, regulations, and hardships of being a trucker. It's also plain to see how low the general public reguards truck drivers. The latter is a direct result of how so many drivers look and act. The many youtube videos of drivers doing extremely stupid things don't help either.

After reading the comments, think about how you present yourselves to the general public. As a professional, we are expected to act professional. This may be hard for some to do, but the general bad view of truckers is caused by unprofessional actions by drivers.

As an old hand told me when I was starting out, "Always act like a professional, wether you are one or not". Good advice for all.

Well a big percentage of folks in the MD/VA/DC area are believers of massive federal government. If they don't owe their jobs in some way to the cancerous growth of the central govt., they most surely have friends and family who would be out of work if we slimmed down the federal tumor to a proper size.

And if you've ever driven in a four wheeler in that area, you know how scary it is being around all those trucks with who-the-heck-knows behind the wheel. Can't blame 'em.

You get out to real America and a lot more good folks respect truckers.

I read the article from the Post. I didn't see where they were running any truckers down. Nor did I see any of the quotes you listed. Where are you getting these quotes from ??
