Just wondering; did the widely reported truck drivers march on Washington D.C. Oct 11-13 2013 just Fizzle out to a whimper? What happened? What were the results of their efforts? Well I am rolling up my sleeves on this one. Below is a chronological order of Trucker strikes held worldwide as compared to the US Truckers strikes held the past 20-40 years. There have been success as well as failures. I hope this stays in this topic forum as a wake up call for my fellow drivers; sumthin gotta give! For further insight on truck strikes, see credible academic search engine(s) such as refseek.com. Can this be considered experienced truck driver advice?

your #### bug in your sig!! gets me often when i see a post of yours

The problem like the other topics will say is that there are plenty of drivers to replace the ones who go on strike, the ones who want to do it just wont in fear of losing their jobs.

It was a joke to begin with... the two people who were advocating it had nothing to do with trucking, nor did they give a %%%% about issues affecting us. And... if all they could do was attract morons who couldn't even manage to generate enough money to pay for their fuel to get there, IMO we don't want loosers like that representing us.

Problem was it was more politics than anything else, just more of the "lets blame the prez on stuff that has been around since way before he got into office",and just one side of the political fence against the other. I'm not saying I completely disagree or agree with who's in office, but just blaming one side for all of the trucking industry's problems on one side and adding more of the stupid anti government garbage that's been popping up lately was not the way to go uniting drivers. If you are that upset about who is in office, and you are that passionate about the system that you think the founding fathers created, then VOTE when the time comes. Starting up a tiny little protest for 12- 20 people by just driving a few trucks around the beltway is going to mean zilch to the powers that be.

Without good leaders, money flow and right organization nothing will happen.
