Yep and almost every driver has the view on a strike. They have family and bills and cannot chance it on what may or may not happen during a strike. Its too bad it has to even come to a strike for congress to take action. But unfortunately when things get at its all time worse is when the ppl start getting angry but continues to let Washington control us and none of them look out or defend the little ppl. What trucking has become mainly when the economy started getting bad is a crying shame and disgrace to the trk drivers.

Won't happen. Truckers never stick together. Some will talk a good game then take the first 75 cent a mile load offered.

To make it work would have to lay out things we wanted change. Headed up by a few leaders fighting for everyone. Get companies on board by forcing cost of diesel down or leave the out and force congress to pass bill, law, ruling etc company drivers would get their jobs back. If that guarantee was there id do it. Have to spread word of the strike to every single driver. We have to be unified. If even one driver doesn't participate it would weaken our stance. I had a vision the other day of seeing all truck just stopping on the side of the road or wherever at one set time. It was amazing. It would only last a week tops. If the rich people can't have Starbucks they would relent asap. Its great to dream big but I don't see a scenario where it works.

There was a strike on the rising fuel costs and gained national attention but only a handful of O/O's participated in the strike.Even the talk about it before the strike date didn't as much as make anyone even flinch. As long as customers have their product no one will worry and wonder if there's a strike coming and no one will help the good truckers of America either.Sad really sad is all I have to say.

And exactly who is going to represent the truck driver and answer to the LEGAL RAMIFICATIONS of a nation wide strike?? I was part of a O/O strike many years ago and it got pretty rough in places around the country. Which one is going to stand their ground and be willing to serve time in jail for these demands to be met?? Dang sure not going to be me!!!

Done my 30 days (along with 16 other drivers) and impound fees along with legal fees for blocking the driveway of a refinery. All it seemed to manage to do was to get the law and the public to believe we are nothing but a bunch of "trashy outlaws and hoodlums" with no regards to the laws of the land, which is still prevalent today.

The demands you are wanting will have to done "politically" along with a PAC group with some very DEEP ($$$$$$$) pockets in order for these demands to ever have a hope of being met.

it would cripple a lot if it would really happen, look at all the fast food joints not getting their product as well, how much of the current population relies on eating out these days?

Who says a strike has to get rough and tough,That's just plain childish. That kind of action will lead nowhere except in jail as you already know.Drivers can just park their rigs at home, their terminal or wherever legal and just stay home till their demands are met.Only possible way the drivers win is unite as one but we know that is never going to happen.
