Man I was at a petro in Carlisle today and there was an old lady trucker in there giving the waitress a real hard time. From the time she sat down. She was grumpy. And her husband or dude that was with her was too. I wanted to say something but the waitress was handling it nicely. Her and her husband couldn't even agree in what they wanted for breakfast.

Lol. Yep. Only way to work it is to follow lead of others and unionize. Sports do it all time. Never work. Look at UAW biggest set of lazy people. Get easy conditions because can strike to get what they want

30 to be exact, mostly owner operators. Over 3,000 committed to the strike, to actually be in the strike.

Anybody who wants change can do that right now. Nobody is forced to drive a truck for anybody. It is a free country and everybody can make their own choices. As long as people are standing in line to get a job at all the mega carriers nothing will change. Why should they change anything when people are willing to pay them to be owner operators or truck drivers.

What does that say about an individual if they work like that and wont make a change. It is up to everybody to make their own choices. Why does everybody want their hand held and want government involved. That is the reason we keep drowning in regulations. I have a very clear understanding with my employer what I will do and where I will go. For example my load got cancelled right when I was putting groceries in the truck. I was offered a run to California which I gladly declined. Here I am back at home and might be there until next week. Will I starve to death or loose my home? Not really and usually something else comes up anyway. I could stay home for years and live of my savings if I had to.

That is where most people go wrong. They live beyond their means and always have to worry about loosing something and if that doesn't change you will always be a slave to the poor choices you have made in life. There is a lot of stuff I would like to have, but I can do without and the sun will still come up tomorrow. My boss knows that and I am treated with respect and as a valuable asset to the company. He also knows that if he does not keep up his end I will clear out my truck and drive for somebody else.

Everyone should look at their own life's and choices and stop being victims. If a company is bad don't drive for them. Sooner or later they should be out of drivers and they will have to make changes. That goes for rates as well. If the freight is to cheap don't haul it. Sooner or later the cheap guy will run out of money hauling this cheap freight.

Alright I get of my soap box know. Have a great day.

Some interesting points have been raised. I through out some specific ideas but nothing is set in stone.

Let me deal with one issue. "We have to make sure we get our Jobs back".

We are not striking against the companies. We are striking against the DOT. How long does it take to replace a striking auto worker? An hour? They strike and if they wanted to replace the line workers at GM they could in a heartbeat.

Getting a CDL takes some time. Schools average 4 to 6 weeks. Then you have to have a trainer take you around. The trainers are who? They are drivers also.

Sometimes an action does not actually have to happen, it only has to be threatened. If we show that we have the ability to work together and strike together then we are powerful.

I am talking about using our combined power for the common good.

I know politics. All we have to do is raise our voices, together. TOGETHER.
