Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Anyone hear about a strike? I heard many big companies are proposing a 1 day shut down to address the cost of fuel, lack of parking, and overall low rates

Been hearing about a "strike" for the past 15 years. It never happened, probably never will.
But let me ask this:
How will "going on strike" affect the price of fuel?
A better question would be: How can the GOVERNMENT affect the price of fuel (with-out the shortages of the 1970's; the LAST time the Government "controlled" the price of fuel)?

You got that right. All talk and no do.

Besides one day is not going to bring about any results other than folks will say look at those crazy truckers. It would take longer than that to do any good.

This is as silly as the "Great Gas-Out" strike morons call for every year.
THEY PROPOSE: Not buying gasoline on one day in particular. The only problem is: if you don't buy gas on TUESDAY in protest, you ALWAYS buy it on MONDAY or WEDNESDAY. The end result? Money that gas companies don't make on Tuesday, they make up for Monday and Wednesday.
Chinese fire-drill, exercise in futility.

It actaully too bad that drivers won't get organized and DO IT! I remember the strike of 1976... I was only 4, but I can remember the smell of rotten oranges, and remember the store being out of food....

How bout boycotting one brand of fuel at a time let say exon/mobil or who ever. Every body stop going to exon/mobil or flying j to get fuel just go somewhere else this should cause exon/mobil to lower their price to get people in there stores. In return all the other oil companys will have to lower there pirces to compete. One of our biggest probelms is we won't unite and do something about. We just complain and take it.

How about BP? Who BTW doesn't have the network to support the stations they have, so they buy it from Exxon or whoever.

That statement alone shows you the falacy of boycotting one brand.

Maybe the Eco Terrorist will blow up a couple of refineries instead. Then we can all park for a couple of weeks, insted of days.

Looks like I'll be doing my part this week too. Or at least so far.
