Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Ok truckers , It is time we get together and get this thing going , we need to stop talking about it and do it !!!

The only strike I can remember that we accomplished what we wanted was in 1974 , YES THEY ALL band together then !!! I was a boy then standing beside my Dad . Now I am ready to stand again .

I have listened to drivers gripe about this for 26 years and no one ever stands together to follow it threw . All we would need to do is stop for 3 days , I promise the world would stop !!! We as owner /operators have more power then you can imagine . 3 days and the economy will be ready to pay what ever we want to get the merchandise to them .

But we have to ban together . United we stand , divided we fall . The trucking community has been more divided then united .

Now to get your blood pumping !!! I have spent all day talking to local government , the state FDOT and merchants . I found out that most companies are paying a FSC , the bad part is the Major trucking companies and brokers are pocketing it and not passing it on to the owner / operator . OH NO not my broker !!!! Yeah your a pee on to them !!!

I have spoken to about 40 O/O here in S.W. Florida today after speaking to the officails and I hear the same thing " We dont want to lose our spot " even though half of them are 1-2 months behind on their payments and the other half cant affore insurance . SO either way you look at it they are going to lose there truck now or later , we strike and the work will be there .

But then again what do I know , I am just a rookie !!!!!

I almost wanna say that about all its going to take these days is a few of us to just ROUND up some brotherhood and PULL em Over on to the shoulder / off ramps / onramps or what ever..

To simplify your answer sweety.. WE "ALL" need to SET a 4 months DATE, stick to it spead the word like AIDS and GO WITH IT!

My Wife and I are about DONE.
I cant continue like this!

COME UP with a DATE here, and Talk on the radio, NEWS, CB, XM SAT, ect.. I may own a site but I have NO problem rounding folks up here!
Not at all!

Sorry to sound like the CHIEF leading his flock to slaughter but it's true.

WE NEED to pick a DATE 4 - 5 months into SUMMER and GO WITH IT!

SPREAD the WORD LIKE AIDS! 10-4?

Hopefully We Independence SURVIVE that LONG!

And IM 105% GAME on this one!

SET THE DATE HERE: SPREAD the WORD on EVERY MEDIA POSSIBLE?

Exactly we need to get the word out, and even all these company drivers who whine about loosing their jobs, quit your whining and wipe the tears off, your not going to be out of a job. Your going to be out of a job if you don't strike, our country will crumble and fall apart faster than you think! This wont fix itself, it needs to be addressed! I hear you company drivers always sayin "you would, but you fear loosing your job", I think it's partly because you think it doesn't effect you because you dont pay for fuel. I bet you wont realize it until your wages start getting cut or you get let go because someone else will drive your truck for less CPM. How are you going to be loosing your job, when the demand for you to drive that truck your sitting in is going to be so high when the strike is over! You better bet all 65 of our drivers and trucks are going to be sitting and still have jobs when its over! If you get fired over it anyway, screw the as@#$les you work for there scum and don't stand up for whats right. Call me and i'll put you to work in our trucks, and if we don't have an available truck to run then we'll have to go buy you a brand new Kenworth or Freightliner to run!

This is a must happen, like mentioned before "WE NEED TO TAKE BACK OUR COUNTRY"!!!

I'm 110% for this, we need to defend our rights.

if i strike, then fire myself for not driving will you buy me a new KW???

so lets work on getting this "strike" up and running

matthews...you'll work as spoksman until we can con...er....i mean get someone more qualified

im sayin end of june, right before the big holiday weekend...thoughts?

and im sure many are reading this thread wondering if we are just nuts or what....but i think a great many will stand with us

in the last 10 months fuel has gone up over $1.25/gallon...now you can wonder why company drivers are getting paid less than they deserve

the only real problem i see is this......
1. if we raise rates...prices will go up at stores...thus putting us back in this same mess

2. we get fuel prices capped....oil companies produce less...thus screwing us again

3. goverment regulation......i dont want the amount i have now let alone more

so what do we accomplish and how?

Dannyboi,

Not trying to boost your EGO buddy but reading your post just got me wanting to send you a gift cirtificate to the "PILOT" ROFL! Just got me going MORE! 10-4?

These COMPANY drivers that thing they are going to LOOSE their job's have nothing to worry about IF:

#1 Go Ahead and work, but do 5 MPH BELOW the posted STATE SPEED
#2: LOG EVERY MILE "LEGAL"
#3:GOTO WORK and FOLLOW Number 1
#4: If you have Vacation time? Take it when we all PULL out trucks OVER!

THAT ALONE would even IMPACT the Industry during a TRUCK STRIKE!
For Company Drivers Anyways... And I also know a few COmpany drivers that just Dont give a #### and would just NOT SHOW up.... lol.. I know its bad but, we all know people like that!

Again, I feel like this is almost pointless but I know it's NOT. We are fighting for each other and our OWN livelihood.

We NEED to Nail down a DATE and start spreading the WORD!!!

Here, in Ohio "Akron,OH" Im well known. It will not take long for the drivers to follow an 8th grade Truck driving LEADER! lol..

No really, I KNOW for a fact I could get Akron drivers to FOLLOW my truck to the BERM! I know I could! With the Cost of FUEL and exciting them with BEER and WOMAN?
NOT A PROBLEM!

WHEN?

This is the million dollar question.

The fuel prices are absolutely absurd. There is no reason for the increases we've seen over the past 5 years. When I first started driving in August of '03, diesel was going for about $1.25-$1.45/gallon. What in God's Holy name has happened in four and a half years to make the price of fuel nearly quadruple?

The guy from Boston who has that website and a cigar store? Would he really be of any help? I have wondered if he's not been in the limelight for people (not me) to make fun of.
