Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

For starters and then the Truckers are getting the shaft as well..But you do not care about maybe the economy is controlled by the Oil company's ...

Raising the price on everything is not going to benefit everyone

We Americans need to figure out how to make more money to pay for our expensive stuff. Oil companies don't give a crap about us, and they will sell their oil to anothe country if we don't pay this. You think we really have bad fuel prices go to another country and see what they pay at the pump. We as Americans need to quit whinning about having to pay for the increase in cost of living and figure out a way to make more money!

Oh and BTW I am not getting shafted out here because I am charging for the increase in fuel.

Americans need to quit whinning you say...They would not complain about 25c increase..But over a dollar give me a break there is a lot to complain about when the oil company's are rapping the public.

The way I see it is it is never going to get better, the oil companies have a monopoly right now, so until we can run trucks on another source of fuel we are screwed.

Get tough

We can all make excuses as to why we can't go on. We need a reason to go on. My reason is I have a wife and two girls. The other reason is I like to eat. I have worked hard to get to where I am now in life, I am in no way willing to allow our government to bring me to my knees with out a fight. They want us to accept the fact they can not be brought down, they had better think ahead to the future. It is we the people who make things go here. If we stop they will to. If we end up with no money, they have none to take. I am going to ask you all one question. How many graves are filled with great men and women who fought for freedom. What would they say if they could see what has gone on after they had given their life for our freedom today. We are truckers, wives of truckers, sons and daughters of truckers and friends of truckers. We are a family and if we can't get fuel prices down, we can increase our prices to off set this. If this can't be done because shippers wont pay more. We need to not move the product. For those of us who can't go on because of no money, so be it. It does not mean you failed, it means you could not hold out due to corrupt politics. If we fail, so will our government. Neither of us can survive without food. Money is needed for food. For the oil companies who have been screwing us. $100 plus per barrel for our fuel, and we are going broke trying to civilize these people. I am for sending that same barrel back with food in it for $200 a barrel. Let them start chewing on some black gold if they won't pay our price. Hang in there everyone. One week off and this country will take notice before the week is up.

And we need to take a vacation and wake them up to the fact that we do not like being screwed

Just wanted to let you all know that we are having a protest in Ga on April 1st. No it's not an April fools joke. Several hundred trucks and 4 wheelers will be meeting on I-75 at exit 201 at 8 am on April the 1st. We are currently in the process of getting permits and an escort to allow us to go straight to the capital. If we are denied access through the middle, then they can't deny us access on I-285. To all drivers that do not want to participate, traffic is going to be a mess so I would recommend you getting out of Atlanta before we get there. We are encouraging all to participate. You don't have to be a trucker to stand up with us. Alot of people are saying that it is pointless and they might be right, but sitting around doing nothing is accomplishing nothing! This is a way of getting some much needed attention and to let the people know we are not gonna take it anymore and we mean business. This also will start the statewide shutdown in Ga. We are hoping that if enough people see we are serious this will catch on all across the nation. Again this is not a joke. Feel free to contact me for more information. Hope to see you there.

Brandi

I think you need some more time in this industry to make that statement. Get your OWN authority ( your rights to haul commercial freight) and then tell us how great your doing.
