Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Truck Owners ANGRY and Scared Over Fuel Costs

CyberGals Topic - [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. Didnt really do anything more for me but make me even more Angry!

Guys we need to do something and we need to do something FAST!

I've heard a few of you say IT WILL NEVER happen. We'll hearing that is starting to go in one ear and out the other!

I hate it when I hear some of you say its poor management of moneys?
Thats an outright SLAP in the face for people who have alot to loose in a situation like we are ALL facing. And Thats not what we want to hear from YOU! We come here to support one another and encourage one another in a time of STRESS, and HARD TIMES, and Good OLD Information!

I think It was Brickman who I was talking to that stated QUOTE: WE ARE LIKE FAMILY - END QUOTE

And besides the little pissing contest that Burk and I and ROADKILL and I still are having, Which BETTER END NOW...

Im throwing in a WHITE FLAG! I QUIT... DAMMIT!!! I QUIT!!! Im not hear to fight with anyone, nor are you.. Again WE ARE here to HELP one another and I've HELPED people in the past with questions and they have helped me.

Im here to get your alls TRUE and HEART FILLED BACKING on an issue that will " KILL " My business and YOURS!

I simple DO NOT KNOW WHAT to do!
The freight we haul is NOT CHEAP FREIGHT, so Thats NOT the issue!
The ISSUE is what every UNITED STATES TRUCKER is facing today.
HIGH FUEL PRICES!

We Need to BAND together and NOT Joking or making a a funny! The ISSUE is REAL, and its going to KILL us if we dont do something about it.

Im not meaning to SNAP at you all and I know you all are not meaning to snap at me or anyone else. Their is a thickness in the air and you know it.

WE ALL KNOW what the Issue is but I wanna know " WHEN" we are going to do something about it?

WHEN?
I DONT want to hear We CANT! BECAUSE we CAN!

DAMMIT WE CAN!

WHEN!!!!!!

Burk, and ROADKILL Look...

Disregard the past posts PLEASE? Accept my apologys now guys.. If I done something really wrong Im sorry? But To face the facts? Im honestly loosing my mind trying to figure out a way to get my INDUSTRY to do something about this before its to late.

Not jokeing around, I love my JOB! I love for the most part the people I deal with everyday! The drivers, my customers ect.. It's not their fault!

But WE need to grab the bull by the horns and bring it down. I am loosing my MIND and I cant talk people into doing something about it alone. It's to big for me. Im doing everything I can do to keep my drivers fed, fuel in the trucks, and still feed my own family.

Again I dont mean to repeat myself but "OUR" situation has got me pissed off and their is nothing " I " alone can do about it!

We need to do something about it and we need to do something about it NOW!

WHEN! ARE WE GOING TO DO IT? WHEN?

All the best,
Scared to Death - Matthew Sr.

PS,
The FSC is not an OPTION for SOME of us!
OUR CUSTOMERS will leave us if we just so happen to mention HIGHER FREIGHT RATES or more of a FSC!
SO, LEAVE THAT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I feel you.... I can already see the responses you will get..

High price of fuel should not effect you
Your not running your business correctly
Sell you W900 and get a Yugo, that's the reason your not making it...
Blah Blah Blah

I understand that it is effecting the industry.. It put a great company that I used to work for out of business 5 months ago.. And many more are going out of business. Now I am having trouble finding a decent company that doesn't try to treat me like a slave.. (like I am in high school and need to be watched 24/7, and give me 1000 more rules i need to follow on top of the Federal DOT laws , the famous "company policy rules")

I really think there is something behind it all.. Big companies are sitting back and loving it while smaller ones fall one by one...
Create a shortage where there was no shortage.... Then bring in foreign labor... (a majority owned by American large trucking companies) of coarse this is not the reason but it will lead up to for sure..

What can we do? I am at a loss... It takes Money and organization neither the trucking community has...

I honestly dont know what we CAN effectively do.... but i know im about as fired up as matthews......

more in fuel means less for drivers, staff and equipment......not to mention all the required upgrades coming from cali or ny, dc or the epa....o and all the darn taxes, permits, plates and fee's

its wierd how one cost affects all area's of our industry

and here we all are...on one of the most pretigous (sp?) trucker forums with 12,000 plus members...spitting in the wind becuase we cant get along let alone find an answer

Yah know what? Not meaning to say it this way... But IF IT WILL make a difference im all for it! At this point I dont CARE! It's US vs THEM!

The BIG Company drivers dont have to STOP or DONT have to quit to help US out. For GOD sakes, just do the actual SPEED limit and RUN a LEGAL flipping LOG BOOK for a week!

Truckerjo,
My trucks are very good on fuel! I have a small fleet of 4 T600's with N14s in them. I drive one too... So YES I do WORK!
Im not into the CHROME or wind pushers as we all call them! Yes they are Nice but the old saying CHROME DONT GET YAH HOME I live by!

many of you've seen my posts in the past about us buying OLD 90 - 98 Trucks and running them until they fall apart!

Thats ALL TRUE! Im not into the " she thinks my tractors sexy ". Im into WHAT EVER PAYS ME, and PAYS my guys!

Many of us DONT have the FSC option and many of us cant raise FUEL moneys by just raising our Invoice prices. Our Customers will out right Leave us!
WE ARE EXPENDABLE! And replacable, THE DAY we QUIT!

Brickman know!! I've seen him ##### about that!
WE cant just start raising OUR prices folks....

Its time we freaking STAND up for what is our ans what MY father and your fathers BUILT!! I am not meaning to insight FEAR, or start a RIOT if you call it that... But Its Flipping time we do somthing about it...

And with Fuel now going to $4.10PG here in OHIO? Im ready to dam near drive my truXx through the courthouse in Downtown Akron,OH!

YES, I am PISSED! This is NOT right and WALL STREET is making a BUCK off of YOU and I as we grasp for our LAST DIEING BREATH!

This ##### needs to STOP!

Well we need to get someone with money and i mean money to sponsor some sort of public hearing maybe. I don't know for sure what or who but we need to figure it out soon because talking about it isn't getting us anywhere. This needs to become national support and not just local (meaning truck forum), we need to find a way!
