Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

The only way this would happen is if we all shut down the same day. Or better yet, shut down UNTIL this problem is fixed.

Why shut down when there is plenty of good paying frieght out there? Shut down when yuo have to (when nothing but cheap frieght is availble) I do not want the governement regulating my freight cost, I think I can do a better job then them of what to charge. I strike everyday when offered cheap freight!

Want to know what I haul? I run a dry van hauling general freight through a broker that is negiotable on EVERY LOAD and I am not under contract. I am over $2 a mile right now with the fuel prices the way they are.

So is it better to not haul cheap freight and lose my ##### or haul it and still lose my ##### and screw the rest of the guys out there? You guys can strike all you want, but waht exactly are you striking for? Ill be out there making the big bucks while the rest is striking because there will be a DEMAND for trucks.

Why should I support my fellow truckers who are striking for a handout? I dont' need a handout, nor am I struggling with my business. Be smart about it and find a way to make money without a free handout.
