Important Truckers Forum Notice!

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Probably be a good idea to carry some spare air lines.

And read your insurance policy, you might want to change the deductible for broken glass.

Check 5th wheel locks as well....

Tandem sliders as well..

Its pretty easy to research
We have many discussions on this forum
Do a google search on the subject and you will be surprised
I think Exxon made record profits of around 40 billion but payed 70 billion in taxes.
So when they get 12 billion tax relief its almost nothing
I agree the prices of fuel are scary
I think the oil companies are being screwed with all the taxes they pay, they are forced to pass down the taxes via the pump

Ohhh My God ....You got to be kidding me....

Did you know that Exxon never paid for the Clean up in Alaska...

I really think that you need to research that over again...

Why would they pay 70 in taxes on 40? That just does not make any sense at all

I was wrong they paid 30 in taxes
Here is a post the gives a link for their financials
Exxon Mobil- $40.6 billion
Its the oil business they are taxed like crazy for the right to earn a profit, in turn being able to pay out that profit to their share holders. Which could be you
I understand your frustrations
But getting caught up in the Passion of the moment and calling for a symbolic lynching isn't the answer
Go look up their financials, interesting stuff

I thought you were striking because of cheap freight, fuel prices, etc.?

Now its for the farmers, fixed incomers, etc. ?

Farmers are big boys and they can strike on their own, they are a completly different story because they get paid a wee bit different then us. Should they strike? Heck ya, but why should we strike for them? There is more than enough farmers out there to strike and make a difference by themselves.

Fixed incomers should have invested or planned their retirement better, and they need to figure it out on their own.

And even better you are trying to pursade me and others about the "oil companies greed" but yet someone gives you some very informational and true facts about them and you refuse to read it or "buy into" the truth.

You just can't comprehend that it is effecting everyone now do you.. But you have been in business now for 3 years and you just know it all....LMAO

And your comment about the fixed incomers is a joke as well..Not everyone has a silver spoon....

Lot of these fixed incomers might not have had a retirement plan offered where they work..Or they might have fallen on hard times for what ever reason...But you got all the answers..And a lot of the retirement plans were not disigned for todays needs..

This is effecting everyone...Bottom line please understand that..Economy is going down the drain.

You say Farmers are big boys and they can strike on there own...I think..They should team up with anyone that uses Diesel and gas..And strike with everyone else.

Face it people are losing there job's in all trades

.
A lot of these people worked and saved and made investments, but there is no way to plan around a collapse of the economy with hyperinflation.

Well I guess you could live in a cabin in the mountains, with a ton of ammo, some dynamite, A 20,000 gallon tank of diesel fuel, a generator, lots of spare parts, and tons and tons of dried meat, beans and rice.

Still you would have to defend yourself from the starving hoards of people looking for food
