Company Drivers???

Just curious if any big company drivers are going to shut down also?? We will need the company drivers that supply large chain stores such as walmart dollar general and so on to take part also. It would be VERY nice if we could get the tankers shut down that would make a HUGE impact in very short time. Also the cow haulers that haul kill cows would make a very large impact in fewer numbers of trucks shut down.

I have been shut down for the last month or so and its just killin me not being out there and not know whats going on. Landstar looks like they have alot of trucks shutting down already because their board is already filling up.

What are we shooting for anyway?? Lower fuel of course. But what about regulating broker fee's anyone thought about the pro's and con's of this one?? And how about all the BS fee's that us o/o have to pay?? I doubt we could pull this off but what about lowering insurance premiums.

i'm not really sure pete as far as demands goes, i haven't been an o/o for about 4 years and i never really dealt with brokers unless you call the agents for landstar brokers. if people will just quit hauling the cheap freight those scumbags will be out of business. you guys need to get together, ORGANIZE, ORGANIZE, ORGANIZE... there's strength in numbers. but as long as these cut-throats will go in there and haul it trying to make a quick buck, nothing will be accomplished.

Yeah I am with LandStar also. Im just spitting words here but if we go back to brokers being regulated wouldnt they try to up the price on there customers to make the same money as before?? In turn wouldnt this give big companys even more of a chance to cut our throats??

I don't think that regulating the brokers is the way to go, just don't haul the freight if it ain't paying much. things will work out on their own, those guys will be out of business. when i was running trucks, i had my set rate in my head about what my price was. if it was any cheaper than that i just didn't haul it.

Same here I havent had ONE problem with finding good paying loads you just have to look sometimes and be creative. And I dont think regulating is the way to go either it would be cutting our own throats IMHO.

Well i'm glad you decided to take a vacation anyway, that's the only way it'll get any attention.

I agree with yall but you still hear these company drivers talkin bout how they can't afford to shut down, their not smart enough to realize that if they can't afford to stop for a month they aint gettin ahead anyway!!! Am I right???

The problem is that FSC rates are going up so fast that freight rates for most can/will not rise also, without freight rates changing you're paycheck can not match the inflation being caused by the price of fuel, so until freight rates go up they are loosing money like we are just not as much!
