Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Whats it lookin like out there

Just curious what the roads are looking like out there and what kind of impact were makin on our 1st day??? Watching the news ive only caughts one traffic cam so far and that was on I-10 and it only showed 1 truck in about 45 seconds so it was lookin good. Oop just showed the I-24 split in Nashville and I saw 4-5 trucks nothing like usual though.

Haven't noticed a difference around GR, same traffic this morning, lots of trucks, etc.

Also- the story linked on Drudge Report interviews a driver who has a load of equipment for a church in California who is going to hold the load hostage. Way to get a good example for the industry... You can't hold the load hostage- drop it, then shut down if you're going to.

Like I said I am at home and not out there but on all the morning traffic cams there doesnt seem like the normal ammount of trucks in the nashville area.

What really is getting me is NONE of the news channels has the story straight. CNN said we are just threatning to shut down for one day, Nashville is saying we convoyed PA and ARE going to shut down for one day. What this tells me is we NEED a spokesperson to get our story straight and get it out in media. Guys we CAN pull this off if we unite and get as much done ASAP while we have the larger guys like PGT down with us. Some of the mods or Admin or SOMEONE needs to get a good story and get it to the media ASAP so it will make 5 o'clock news. If we get it in the media the the general public might get behinde us.

On some of the other forums i frequint they are saying stuff like I saw a bunch of trucks fueling as usual today and NO ONE knows what the real deal is.

Oh and how bout a sticky with updates, such as numbers down what we are hearing and so forth.
