Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Truckers' Protest Snarls Stevenson Traffic

Quote:
A protest by more than a dozen truck drivers on Interstate 55 Tuesday morning ended with the truckers being issued citations by state police and having to undergo inspections of their rigs.

The truckers stopped in traffic on the Stevenson at Damen Avenue Tuesday morning, according to an Illinois State Police District Chicago sergeant.

It was part of a nationwide trucker protest against the high price of diesel fuel.Traffic was snarled just prior to the entrance to the Dan Ryan Expressway. State police said the protest briefly blocked all inbound lanes of I-55 and, they said, caused several collisions.By 9:30 a.m. the protest had ended, and traffic was moving through the area again, the sergeant said.

I see nothing resembling ticketing or inspections in that video.

That video was shot after they moved off the road. See the pic I just posted. LOL The helicopter was a little late getting to the event, apparently.

If you click on the "Survey" from that news link, it appears that the public supports lower fuel prices for truckers.

Cool, I didn't notice that. Thanks for the head up. I see that a lot, on many of the news stories related to the strike or cost of fuel. Many people are looking at the truckers as the leaders now to get the prices back down. They may not understand the whole issue, but they understand that truckers are trying to help.

There's always a solution..

GREAT! I was just going to add though to take all tickets and appeal them all!

I pray to God that WALMART and some of these bigger guys that can afford to strike will they too will benefit from it.
