Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

proof that its working

There is shippers in So. Fla refusing to load trucks now until this is over because drivers are picking up loads then shutting down and not delivering. The place that I was at had 12 loads on the floor and not letting them go. On my way back to shut down I noticed a huge decline in truck traffic. anyone who knows the miami area can tell you it is generally packed with trucks, there was only a handful of container and company trucks.

traffic cams

You can take a look just about anywhere thru traffic cams. It's kinda hard to tell the impact cause there's still alot of truck traffic.

proof that its working............maybe

Yeah, im only speaking from what little I have seen on my way back to park. I heard most of the big fleets are still running and I dont notice no lack of food or fuel here. but it has caught the attention of some in our senate so we will see where it goes.

Up around here i'm up near the Lima, Ohio area. So i'm normally out running between the TA down at Wapak (don't know the exit number but its the only one there.) and the Flying J and Pilot up at beaverdamn which i think is the 135 exit on I-75. Its been pretty dead really. I had noticed it slowing down in the past month but this week it is flat out slow. If you do get trucks running it seems like company trucks like Swift and that sort of thing. Ofcourse even then thoose drivers are running slow and in tight groups which isn't normal. So its getting bad around here and seeing as we have i think 6 or 7 terminals in town for different companies i'm waiting for them to start not letting loads go out.
