Important Truckers Forum Notice!

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Truckers’ Strike a No Go?

Truckers’ Strike a No Go?
4/7/08
Dublin Courier Herald, GA

Quote:

Although independent truckers are still striking and have been since Thursday it may still be too soon to know if the lack of hauling across the state has made an impact. And according to reports, many truckers may have given up the strike.

Tammy Rollin, secretary of Laurens Truck Sales, said at presstime this morning the strike is still on, however that was all she could verify.
She did not have any other update and said Jason Jones, one of the organizers of the Georgia strike, has been on the phone right up to presstime with others about the strike.
Down at the Georgia Ports the strike seems to be off.
Robert Morris with the Georgia Ports Authority said by all appearances trucks are picking up loads.

“The gates look busy from my vantage point,” he said, and after checking with the loading areas he verified that truckers are lining the gates. “Things are back to normal and we’re expecting a very busy week this week.”
