How do you expect this strike to work?

Since we are the richest county, and yet majorty of other countries have WAY more expensive gas how do we have any room to complain?

What is your fix for the high gas prices? i.e. what do you propose they do to make it cheaper?

After reading posts of being called "having no backbone" because some of us just can't seem to complain about gas prices and won't strike.

If and IF you were going to have a legimate strike you would need a proposed plan to make a change and also have ONE spokesperson.

Alot of Americans can QUICKLY complain about the gas prices, yet they countinue to drive big SUVs, BIG gas guzzling trucks, big boats, etc. etc. If someone can't seem to afford gas then they should start selling their vehicles and buying gas efficent cars. And quit using gas powered toys as well (boats, ATVs, etc.) I live on the Mississippi and I still see just as many boats, if not more than there was 3-4 years ago!

We are the 4th richest country according to the GNP per capita in us dollars.

Luxembourg is number 1
Norway is 2nd
Switzerland is 3rd
and US is 4th.

now the gas prices are

Luxembourg is $4.82 a gallon
Norway is $6.27 a gallon
Switzerland is $4.74

As you can see we our fuel prices are not that bad.

LMAO...Fuel prices are not the bad...Look the price has doubled in less then a year..That is not going with the rate of wages or inflation..

People are going bankrupt right and left.. People are losing there homes ..

Try reading the business section of your paper and come back down to earth..

It is not good out there ..

I hate to say it, but I think that we are all in for a lifestyle change. I'm glad that I didn't raise my kids to get everything that they wanted. My oldest just moved out, and I'm scared to death for him. I know that he can live on what he is making, but if things keep going up, he may be moving back in with us.

I agree with you we are in for a lifestyle change. Did you shed some tears when your oldest moved out? It is a rough world outside, and I think many people set their kids up for failure when they give them everything they want. It doesn't show them how to work for things you want. When I was younger if I wanted something like a TV for example I had to work paying for half of it and my parents took care of the other half. I actually mowed lawns with someone else's lawnmower until I saved up enough money to buy my own. I am glad my parents made me work for the "extra" things I wanted to have.

Thats pretty much what we did with our kids. They had to work to get their stuff. And if they did extra around the house, then they got rewarded. But as far as their vehicles, they worked for those.

I was sad to see him go, but not sad, if you know what I mean. Its a huge step toward adulthood, and he's made great strides in that area. If he had moved out of town, or out of the state, it might have been harder on me, but at this point, I still see him quite often. In fact he's in the driveway putting a clutch in his truck right now.

I'm just glad that he's comfortable with coming over.

I have a very close realationship with my parents, just like you do with your kids. My mom and dad live a couple of blocks away from me and we go over 3-4 times a week.

I already have some in place..Loaf of bread is $3.50 here..I will be baking my own from now on as well as rolls and other things.

I am expanding my garden this year and going to be canning the veggies and fruit's and freezing them..

I have 2 cow's so that will take care of my Burger needs...LOL..

I just bought a new gas range and installed it today and got rid of my 45 year old range..

I will be eating out less now and bagging my own lunch..That will save a load of dough..

I am getting a water filter system and bottling my own water for the road and shop.

I also will be brewing my own beer and making my own wine..Just think of the savings there ...LOL

One quick comment...on the price of fuel in other countries.

America does not tax fuel as a luxury, most European countries have very high fuel taxes because in the 30s till the 80 s fuel was in fact considered a tool of the rich, Most poor people were using public transportation.

Fuel is taxed there to support many social programs we do not pay here with fuel taxes.

While living outside the United States I experienced 100 percent inflation per year and later on 100 percent inflation per month... Both were learning experiences most Americans have never had to endure. This country is not exactly experiencing inflation so much as currency devaluation. But the effect to Americans is the same. Part of the blame is believe it or not China and their artificially low currency exchange against the dollar that makes Chinese products so cheap here.

The Chinese are in fact financing the greatest industrial revolution in history with this artificially low currency while at the same time watching greedy American and European corporations wreck our own industrial bases by shifting production to contracted Chinese production owned by the Chinese Army.

The only thing slowing the Chinese industrial revolution is a chronic logistical failure caused in great part by the massive inefficiency of a Centralized communist controlled government, and a lack of FUEL....

Striking here to fix this problem is a joke! Stop supporting the Chinese, that will cause them to collapse like the Russians did.. Nothing else makes sense.
