I was saying that one should refuse cheap loads, learn how to negotiate, run and master your own business and I get flak?

Granted, Ill be the first to admit that Im not an owner op. At the same time, my ability to use common sense hasn't failed me yet and when it comes to running a successful business, I don't see why taking charge of yoru own company is a bad thing. Maybe thats just me.

So bring it on...I got two days off, and a grocery store down the street full of caffinated pop.
so let me see if i've got this straight, you've been in the trucking business less than a year and you're not an o/o but you've got this whole thing all figured out?

GREED...
Greed is the [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. desire for or pursuit of money, wealth, power, food or other possessions, especially when this denies the same goods to others. It is generally considered a vice, and is one of the seven deadly sins in Catholicism
People who do not view unconstrained acquisitiveness as a vice will generally use a word other than greed, which has strong negative connotations. Greed denotes desire to acquire wealth or possessions beyond the needs of the individual, especially when this accumulation of possession denies others legitimate needs or access to those or other resources. For example, amassing a large collection of seashells would not be considered greed, unless in doing so, the needs of others were jeopardized. Essential to the concept of greed is the awareness that the needs of others are denied, thus rivalrous goods exemplify greed while non-rivalrous goods may not. Greed also often involves using wealth to gain power over others, sometimes by denying wealth or power.

I certainly think so!! For years I think they have lied to us about what the world actually has for oil reserves. They constantly use these "were going to run out of oil" scare tactics, thus justifying the cost going up and up.
From what I have read on the internet, the world has almost 1000 years of oil from existing proven reserves. This does not include recent new discoveries of oil reserves that have been said to be in the trillions of barrels, and recoverable.
Oil greed goes well back to the late 1800's and early 1900's. There greed existed then and now has become a refined practice.

The oil companies are reaping the rewards of us being screwed, but they are not the only ones doing the screwing. Try the world bank! They set the price of a barrel of oil, not the oil companies. Your government is in their hip pocket, bought and paid for so until you figure that out you are focusing on the wrong entity. impo The oil companies are not the only ones trying to eliminate our constitution and form a North American Union...Its the Builderburg group and the Tri Lateral Commission which consists of international bankers as well as others.
