Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Truckers stand up to big corporations

Truckers stand up to big corporations

I am ashamed this country has allowed the big corporations like Exxon Mobil and Shell to continue to reap profits and get the financial gain if $18 billion a year in tax breaks as well.

The only ones to stand up and fight back have been the independent truckers who are hanging on to their livelihood by a thread. We are like ostriches with our heads in the sand. We continue to follow the lemming ahead of us as we all dive in suicidal ignorance.

This is not just a gas crisis, people, this is a war. All of our supplies are dependent upon trucking. We eat from the produce of the world. it costs all of us to get that to our tables. Our garbage is taken for granted but someone is paying the extra price at the pump and it will reach you, too.

The things we take for granted in our daily routine are fast becoming frivolous - no pizza delivery, no drive through windows, no popping into the store for a quick item. We are being forced to turn to self-sufficient means to get by without using gas.

this paragraph was also in the article;
So we watch as a sporadic few show a fist of defiance. People, they are not taking a stand for their own self-preservation, they are trying to light the path for all of us to see the light.

When it is all said and done it is only the truckers that can force a change to the disaster that is happening right now to our country, we are the only group that is small enough to come together yet powerful enough to make the politicians and greedy big business interests see the light!
The independents are doing what they can but it is going to take all truckers to unite and let them know we mean business, until that happens things are just going to get worse for everyone, we have been sold a bill of goods and its time that we all put a stop to this, the public is overwhelmingly in support of the truckers doing something some polls show as high as 80% which is remarkable as they also know what hardship they will suffer when the trucks shut down, but they also see that we are the only force strong enough to effect change for the better,
Its time for all truckers to stand up and unite to save this country from going the way that the USSR did ,open your eyes and get mad about what is happening to our country!!!
The next shutdown is scheduled for the first week of May it will be bigger than the one in April, so how about it EVERYONE independent and company driver alike just stop your rigs and do what is right for your country if we get together just once it will be enough ,too many people are hoping that this will just go away and causing the movement to grow slowly which is just making it more painful to the growing number of truckers and families that are working to restore some order out of this chaos,Do your part and work with your fellow Driver and help all American families.
