Important Truckers Forum Notice!

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Let Truckers Shut Down US

Let Truckers Shut Down US

Truckers are small business persons in this country. Alot of the stuff hauled around the country is carried by independent truckers. These truckers own rigs..they're not some corporate special interest looking for a hand out. They haul the stuff we want so that they can put food on the table and pay for their kids' education.

Lately, independent truckers have shown a side of American patriotism few in Washington, D.C. remeber any more. They've staged highway slow downs to protest oil corporations that are gauging American consumers.
I say let them shut down the country.

Two candidates---McCain and Clinton---have proposed what the third candidate, Senator Obama, has rightly called a "gimmick." And indeed it is.
The fact that alternative fuels are urgently needed was apparent to many of us in the 1970s. What has your government done about it? Nothing.

I say open domestic sources of oil production in an envrinomentally friendly way, IF and ONLY IF the federal government heeds the stipulation that such sources shall ONLY be used until a cost effective and fairly quick alternative energy can be developed.
In the meantime, let the independent truckers shut down the US.

My .02 worth if every one would help not just by shutting down but do these things.
#1 Stop going to sports games buying those high priced tickets
#2 Stop going to movies
IMO if you stop doing this it will take millions of $ out of the right pockets meaning the ones that dont care how high fuel is their making millions every year.
