Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

I'm sure glad I got my APU, now I just gotta get it on.
We went with the Thermo King Tri-Pak 2 years ago and frankly, I don't know how we lived without an APU before.. We love having one. The cost to run has only been less than Two gallons of fuel for the entire day using the A/C set at 66 degrees, being 85+ outside. Since it cycles off and on, and doesn't run constantly we save over alot of other units. And our neighbors like that.

Let me see now, all those sissy drivers who don`t care about anyone else and idle their trucks, may not have aPU`s, maybe its a co. truck and co won`t spring for driver comfort at a cheaper rate.
Did you ask any of those sissy drivers if they they had allergies or anything else that may have required they keep their windows closed.
To many people in this industry expect other people to conform up or down to their level.
My grandmother told me 'mind your own business and you will do well' also don`t judge others lest you be judged
Hope your business is doing well, but I really don`t care!!

Many in this industry feel that if they are not doing well in business, no one else should be.

This is 2008 and business is business and not 19whatever when times were different....

I personally do not care if the O/O parked next to me is making a million bucks a month or that same O/O is penniless....

You must live in a shallow world Mr. Drifter. First of all Co drivers especially will give any excuse to idle, to drive fast, to lie on logs, or whatever. After all, they still believe it's not "their" money that they are wasting. Some O/O do the same thing, but they blame it on the shipper, the weather, the load, the time restraints, ect. Some drivers will idle simply to keep the frig going. (Now, thats gonna save you money!) If you have an alergy you need to see a doctor! We all breathe the same air, even if we are not alergic to it, its certainly not healthy. If you have sleep apnea machine you need an extra battery, or battery tender. If the company won't fess up for an APU, or other option, then you need to change companies! Those companies need to learn we are in different times now. It shouldn't be just "say no to cheap freight"; it should also be: "Just say NO to CHEAP companies".

Tell me there bigoil, what is your stance on NAFTA/NASCO/North American Union? Are you for or against? I asked you this question before and you avoided it!

cd, you give all the text book answers, see a doctor for allergies, a lot of people live everyday and work with them, could be the fumes from under cab raggedy running APU units all around them aggravating it.

Yes, my world is extremely shallow, if minding my OWN business, and not judging others is shallow I will stay there.

Good Luck.

Just wondering if anybody has seen a drop in fuel prices. I live just outside of Lodi CA a Shell station was $ 5.09 on Wed then $5.02 Thur. now $ 4.90 5/30 .19 cents in 2 days is a h**l of a drop. Maybe the pyramid is finally crumbling.

Don't get yourself too excited. Remember that it was just Memorial Day weekend. It jumped a ton because they knew people would be traveling, then they lower it half of what it was raised to make you feel good, then next week it will continue to rise.
