Important Truckers Forum Notice!

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Unless everyone is being productive and being able to par for goods the economy is not going to be all that good.

#3. The trucking 'house' needs cleaned! How? Wish I knew! I abhor the idea of re-regulation, but not sure how else to control who becomes a carrier. The brokers are far from blameless, but if some idiot's willing to haul it that cheap, why pay more? At some point , drivers are gonna have to realize it takes more than a truck to be an o/o.
And the 'backrow' comment had nothing to do with the desire to help others and everything to do with the ' let's take big oil's money' and 'let's not feed them Arabs' mentality.

Nice try at turning my words, though.
First off, I didn't mean to turn your words around, I just didn't understand where you were going with that. I appologize. Now as for you statements above. Wow. I don't think I could agree with you more if I tried!

#1) The emotional, knee jerk reactions that have become the norm in this government have got to stop. Every time some bleeding heart shows up crying about how they've been wronged, a speacial interest group jumps on board and suddenly we have a constitutional amendment in their favor.

#2)The "enviromentalists" are a joke. We as humans are carnavores by nature. We consume what is around us. I get a huge kick out of the enviromentalists that make a sign out of cardboard, telling me to stop cutting down trees! seems a little twisted if you ask me. If there is oil under an elk in Alaska, kindly ask that elk to move so we can drill there. The elk will adapt. We have all had to adapt to something.

As for number 3, you got me there. There needs to be some organization there. How, I don't quite know, but hopefully it will happen soon.

Yeah, my bad too, 18WDT. I have to remember that with that big tub of Cool Whup hanging around, everyone plays a little nicer round here compared to that other place.

And I know the way things are going construction-wise, a lot of guys in your line of work are in for some rough times. In the few big cities I go to, residential construction has all but stopped. Don't have to tell you how much dirt they haul around in those new subdivisions! Mainly company trucks, but those outfits will be trying to grab all the work they can get. Hope ODOT keeps ya busy for a while.
