Important Truckers Forum Notice!

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

pay your bill, cut down for that extra snak. don't be a baby. its whether now or never.

I dont have enough time but, I will keep posting some more ideas.
wake up.
If drivers would realize that they are the backbone of this country, maybe they would begin to realize the power they hold. You have the perfect opportunity to strike coming up at the end of this week with the July 4th holiday. EVERYBODY park at noon on Thursday, July 3rd. Be prepared to begin talking on Monday. When the feds are ready to talk, take the stand for all injustices, not just fuel prices. Demand better haul rates as well, and anything else (like HOS) you want improvement on. When you have had strikes in the past, you seem to only focus on one issue, and sometimes that one issue hasn't even been that focused. Let the American people and the government sweat a little--in the end, the American people will thank you because fuel prices will come down, and the government will be forced to take a good hard look at what they are allowing these big oil companies to do to us while they just continue to get richer. Stop complaining and start accomplishing.

Thank you, Aftershock, for allowing me to place my 'bang head here' template back in the briefcase!

I was considering a long and carefully reasoned post on:

A) the fact that most of trucking's problems are self-inflicted.

B) the government(s) get more than the evil oil companies from each gallon.

In fact, sir, the receiving end of Muley's anti-lizard stick was looking more appealing than said task!

Bbzzzzzzzzttttt!!! LOL

#1) The emotional, knee jerk reactions that have become the norm in this government have got to stop. Every time some bleeding heart shows up crying about how they've been wronged, a speacial interest group jumps on board and suddenly we have a constitutional amendment in their favor.

#2)The "enviromentalists" are a joke. We as humans are carnavores by nature. We consume what is around us. I get a huge kick out of the enviromentalists that make a sign out of cardboard, telling me to stop cutting down trees! seems a little twisted if you ask me. If there is oil under an elk in Alaska, kindly ask that elk to move so we can drill there. The elk will adapt. We have all had to adapt to something.

As for number 3, you got me there. There needs to be some organization there. How, I don't quite know, but hopefully it will happen soon.
The elk are still trying to survive as they have for centuries.
Humans are the ones who keep encroaching on the wilderness!
Now who needs to adapt?

People need to adapt in my opinion.

As for the global warming issue, it is not a natural event, impo.
Have you seen the weapon system in Alaska? If not you should see what they (gov) can do with the weather!

Recent news/events

Well I haven't been here in a week - got caught up in a lot of work. Anyway, in the last week 2 local trucking companies have gone out of business (northeast Ohio). And the following news has been around:

1. China helps Cuba drill for oil 60 miles off the coast of Florida
2. The futures folks are only part of the problem; bigger problem is the Saudis gouging us and trying to control us;
3. Obama has no plan
4. Some Americans believe we should pay high gas prices

All this is stuff that is beyond my comprehension! And we should all just take it? It is time for a revolution of sorts!!!

I keep readin' the debates.

IMPO, I think humans may have contributed to the warming, but I'm not entirely convinced it wasn't gonna happen sooner or later.

And even if Americans and like Nations, who are attempting to clean up our acts, get together, from what I understand, the "Developing Nations" aren't all that concerned about pollution. In the dictionary -- "pollution" comes before "power".

Which is part of the reason why many American companies relocate to those "developing nations."
