Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

The problem is there are too many people in this world that are all for themselves and to hell with everyone else. They will probably be showing up on this thread very soon. But before they do, let me say that I support an ORGANIZED strike. I don't have all of the answers, but I am pretty sure that this increase in the oil price is not as neat and tidy as increased demand. Sure that may be part of it, but, just because China is industrializing itself, imo, I don't think that caused a $10 spike in the price of a barrel yesterday. They've been industrializing for decades. I believe that it comes down to two things, increased demand and good old fasioned greed. The oil companies saw an excuse to use and immediatly jacked their prices and then said "don't look at us, it's not our fault".
Bottom line is, those of us who still give a damn about the single mother trying to buy food for her kid, or the elderly, just widdowed, woman who needs to buy gas to get to the doctor, can strike all we want. The self centered, no class "super truckers" out here, will continue to tell you how wrong you are, and continue to screw the very country that provides them the freedom to do so.

Yup I am here, I bet my "gang" is on their way.....

I give a damn about the elderly, single mothers, etc. etc. etc. however I REFUSE to run my BUSINESS at a loss for the ones who can't afford anything. I am in this to make money and I am going to make sure I can!!!!!!!!!!

Hey what about that single mom who can't get a job to feed her kids, will you quit your job to give it to her?????

And if you want my support on a strike you must answer all of these things

1. Who is the leader?

2. What are we striking for?

3. What is your solution?

4. How long are we going to strike if they don't accept our "solution"?

I can't support a strike until I know ALL 4 answers.

I didn't say a thing about running your buisness into the ground or anything like that. And this post wasn't necessarily aimed at you. You and I have a breif history on here and a general understanding for where we are both coming from on this. I'm talking more about the people on here who have flat come out and said "I don't care". As far as your 4 questions, I'm searching for the same answers, brother. If all of these drivers who claim that there is going to be another strike every five minutes keep it up, noone will ever take us seriously. I really don't care where this "leader" comes from or who he is as long as he/she is in it for the right reasons and for the long haul.

Ok gang, im all for the strike, and hurting the oil companies, but one problem i see, is that major trucking companies are not going to let theyr drivers participate in any strike, think about it swift has over 17000 trucks, do you think Jerry Moyes is going to let his drivers strike? or his other company Central Referigerated? Or Jb hunt? schnieder? I do wish that all trucking companies as well as air lines busses trains anything major that uses fuel needs to strike at the same time and shut this country down for at least a week, but i dont see it happening unless fuel gets so high that all companies are for it big or small.

How about instead of a strike, we threaten our elected officials with being replaced come next election if they don't freaking allow us to drill here at home?

It's not the oil companies, people. It's Congress.
