Important Truckers Forum Notice!

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

YeAH!
They could be constructive and organize a

That'd be pretty
cool.

They will probably be showing up on this thread very soon.
I know!
Let's be ready and waitin' for 'em.
They won't take US by surprise
like all these strikes seem to.

But before they do, let me say that I support an ORGANIZED strike.
Do we really have THAT much time?
I'm thinkin' we oughta have a knee jerk reaction sooner than that if we plan on gettin' ANY attention.

I don't have all of the answers,

but I am pretty sure that this increase in the oil price is not as neat and tidy as increased demand.
If you still have a life-line left, I'd use it now.
Quote:
Sure that may be part of it, but, just because China is industrializing itself, imo, I don't think that caused a $10 spike in the price of a barrel yesterday.
Me neither.
I think it reflects the additional costs of champaign consumed by the Big Oil moovers and shakers.
SOMEbody has to pay for it.
Quote:
They've been industrializing for decades.
Didn't that happen just after the stone-age?
Quote:
I believe that it comes down to two things, increased demand and good old fasioned greed.
Better make that 3 things.
I think "supply" fits in there, somewhere.

The oil companies saw an excuse to use and immediatly jacked their prices and then said "don't look at us, it's not our fault".
They DID?!
Hmmmmmmmm
Well,........... let's do the SAME thing with
freight rates while nobody's lookin'.
Who's fault would THAT be?

Bottom line is, those of us who still give a damn about the single mother trying to buy food for her kid, or the elderly, just widdowed, woman who needs to buy gas to get to the doctor, can strike all we want. The self centered, no class "super truckers" out here, will continue to tell you how wrong you are, and continue to screw the very country that provides them the freedom to do so.
Those waskels!

Ol' GWB might be interested ---

Or Jb hunt? schnieder? I do wish that all trucking companies as well as air lines busses trains anything major that uses fuel needs to strike at the same time and shut this country down for at least a week, but i dont see it happening unless fuel gets so high that all companies are for it big or small.
If ALL the truckin' company drivers went on strike, could Jerry, or any of the OTHER big company big-wigs really afford to fire ALL their drivers?
And, if they did, with ALL those empty Big truck truck seats, how hard do you reckon it'd be to find another Big truck truckin' job pretty quick?
I'm thinkin' it'd be pretty easy with ALL the truckin' companies sufferin' from a REAL driver shortage.

what's the punch line to that joke?

Not below.
But, remember, a LOT of that freaking oil of ours is in our freaking Strategic Oil Reserves --- which are there in case of a freaking war, and we can't get any freaking oil from anywhere else.

So why pump it all out now at $60-90/bbl, when they can restrict their production to last longer at $150/bbl!
Ain't that capitalism?
Is that legal?

Absolutely they pay attention, ...........
for about 15 seconds during the sound-bite between gang violence and the ball game scores.
But it only takes 'em 7 1/2 seconds to forget it. So I doubt they even log it at all.

Who are you striking against? Who sets the price of crude oil?

Oil companies make around 17 cents per gallon of gas/fuel nowadays. Did you know that the government makes twice that? Bet you didn't.

My simple point is this:

Know your enemy and target them specifically before you go off with your guns blazing.

I don't take the strikes serious because are so many different ones, do you think the goverment and public do?
If you dont take the strike serious and you and someone else on here are making good money living high on the hog. Then how come you and him get on every strike thread and try to convince everyone just how smart and rich you and him are.Its down right childish.
