| Important Truckers Forum Notice! |
| Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then. |

| Shut Up An Drill SHUT UP AND DRILL or should the truckers shut down the country 1 day a week till congress gets their crap together. I suggest we as truckers who bring all products to all the nation and the libs (damn it hurt my finger to type that word)”Libs”. That we call every monday National Truck Driver Day Off. If we shut down every monday and not buy fuel they should get the hint. I say only 1 day a week because Drivers still need to pay all those bills and taxes put upon us hard working people that keep this country running. Drivers should work T,W,T,F,S,S so they still have income. Besides we all need 1 day a week off just to recoupe, let alone let the log book catch up.I think this is the best solution that isn’t so drastic. Your Thoughts Greatly Appreciated |

| One week is all it would take, but it's never going to happen. Not enough people in this country will stand together much less get organized for a strike.

| What needs to happen is truckers pick a major Liberal city Say San Fran or Chicago refuse to run into there for a week as a protest for liberals refusing to let us use what resources we have in this nation. Heck in a week all the Gas Stations and grocery stores would be out of supplies. Only thing allowed in would be Medical sorry I do not want to see the sick hurt in this. |

If not, lobby to close the loopholes and get oil future speculation off the big board. That'll drop prices dramatically. Convince others to stop electing people that are more concerned with polar bears then the rest of the living population. I can't ride a polar bear to work. Until I can, F-em. |

| Yes hospital supplies would have to be Exempt however the supplies would have to come in from outside the strike area and be escorted in. If we during this made the sick and infored suffer we would loose all support however by doing that goodwill for the strike would remain high. |

Liberals are not the only ones that signed the ban on off shore drilling. You might like to look into this a little more. Both parties do things to make their image appealing at times. |

| We all do a lot of talking; but no action Well, I don't think folks can get their act together for a strike, slow down, one day off per week, or anything for that matter, in this day and age. We have become wimps in today's society! I wonder what our forefathers think of us now! Have you noticed all the morons (cars) on the highways still driving 75-80 mph? Maybe they want to say, "hell I can afford gas, no problem". Not many seem to get the idea that for every 5 mph above 60; there is 20% loss of fuel which means they fuel up more and give the Saudis more $$$. Most of the Americans are like sheep - just follow along stupidly. Obviously I am very frustrated and disappointed. Louie |

Do you know that.......INDIA AND CHINA ARE DRILLING 60 MILES OFF OF THE COAST OF F.L. AS I TYPE THIS AND THAT CONGRESS APROVES OF THEM DOING SO!!!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------- You boys had your chance on April 1st to shutdown but most of you did not and as i said in my other posts around that time that you will regret it.......you now have no one to blame but your selves. Someone posted that a strike will not change the price of fuel. Funny thing is though that once the strike was widely publicized on CNN oil went down to a $100.00 a barrel over night and stayed there for 2 days....just long enough for big oil to see that not enough drivers were standing together and then it went right back up.....over night!! There will not be a strike and it will be ineffective if there is because everyone will view us a fools!!!! |

| my part of this thread I move that we change the name of this thread. It should be the " I want to gripe, but I don't want to do anything" thread. When are you going to relieze that you will NEVER get drivers to agree to anything long enough to strike. Companys don't need too and most O/o"s can't or won't. might have to sell your bass boats, run the speed limit and stop idling. oh silly me. forgot who I was talking to. |
