Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

I actually like the color and font he is using. It is easier to read.

Bulldozer The problem is the drivers

The problem is the drivers. !st we have too many uninformed, uneducated, fools driving trucks. They would rather put $50 a night into a cherry machine than pay any kind of dues to the Teamsters OR OOIDA. 2nd Teamsters working in warehouses have been the worst ambassadors possible for the union. Their attitude and treatment of drivers is why so many drivers hate unions! 3rd OOIDA has to start actions where the rubber meets the road. They must sueing states, shippers and receivers, cops, and anyone that messes with drivers! Only then will drivers will consider OOIDA as worth joining.

As an ooida & former union member both are only as strong as the members make them.People can b#### about a free breakfast if youre not willing to do anything you dont deserve to gripe. Us truckers cant agree on much so how can anyone take us seriously?? How many times did they have a "shutdown" to protest fuel costs, did the public really take much notice , a little not much. I remember the 70s we sure got their attention then.

Well said...a union, or any other organization, is only as strong as it's floor.

A strike is a hard apple to sell in such an unorganized profession. You reach into people's pocket ,to request backing, and you see a quick withdrawal from support.....understandable.

Have you ever thought of running a week, or month, exactly by each note of the law/DOT regs...run say "oh no...they did exactly as I said!" I could see deliveries ,of some, slowing by 30%...and your pay would still flow in...perhaps not as much..but enough to survive.
