Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

Eventually I was induced (by more money$$$) and not being treated like a second class citizen to becoming a commercial & industrial electrician (class A electrician). Since then I have watched both industries rise and fall in employment as well I have worked as both a driver and electrician. Times are bad right now. Not because of the employers so much as the fact that we (USA) are spending a billion dollars a day on that damn war in Iraq! That war was started under the premisis that Iraq had "Weapons of Mass Destruction", no such weapons were ever found and now the Bush family is sucking the oil right out of Iraq! I am sorry to say that the USA has been suckered by another gold plated horn blower (GWB). I think GWB should blow all of America's horns on his knees!
This is the strike forum . We have a political forum . Are you telling me you voted for Kerry ? I don't want an answer - wrong forum . Maybe you should have gotten an electrician's job working for a defense contractor . They are getting a lot of those billions .

starving drivers? lol....highly doubt you are starving. besides, most truck drivers i've seen (myself included) look like we could go a day without food. =)
lol, you are right about most of us. I'm lucky with my metabolism, I'm 6"2" and about 205, have weighed less with trucking than I did in my field service days with an expense acct. Getting real good about eating on the truck with my cooler/Burton stove vs the fattening junk at TS's.
I'm teaming for an o/o now, so things have really picked up now. Really prefer this to the co driver bs.

How do you think these big companies get their way? They have large numbers behind them, and large wallets.

These large carriers are building their businesses at our expence. If you don't believe that, just ask yourself, how many times have you hauled a load for one of these large carriers?

Even just once, they are making promises to their customers to provide a service, and you helped them do it!

They will give you the little bits here and there, keeping the guaranteed load and high paying load routes to themselves.

We fool ourselves that they will look after us in the long run. Reality is, when things get tough, you're out!
[LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. have an agenda and thats to make money off of your complaints and all the wrong doings that are done to us by big corps....ooida will only do so much or they will be out of business....we as drivers need to attack this without "ooida" because it will be solely our interests we are fighting for....soooo thats what i think about ooida....they are a business that capitolizes on our complaints....lets cut out the middle man people....stand up and be heard and fight....because without drivers there can be no companies so we need to bring them to their knees because nobody else will do it for us.....fight fight fight.....show some berries

And Mooney...Get the heck off Bush! Jeeze Louse, He's no longer a factor! Clinton did the SAME THING with jobs by looking the other way and actually MORE companies out sourced during Clinton than Bush! And what has Ovomit done on the subject? HMMM? We still lost and are loosing jobs because congress will NOT pass a law taxing these companies the difference in cost of products coming back into the USA!

WMD's What? You missed the news where Saddam gassed the Curds? And also the Iraqis way back in that war also? What do you call those? candy bombs? You can only sleep under a rock for so long!
