Truckers' Trucking Forum/Message Board - The Premiere Truck Driver Forum

Truckers Strike Forum We all hear of a trucker strike. Let's put all the trucker strike threads in here, please so they will more organized. What do YOU think of a trucker strike due to outrageous fuel prices? The April 1st strike fizzled as expected. $5/gal. or more MAY make truckers stand together...if even then.

So what the big deal? Is unusual for a trucker to stop talking and start walking?
BTW, What did the sign say?

Good on ya brother. This is the only way this picket stuff works; co by co and personal. But ya gotta be willing to pay the price.

But ya gotta understand that the big guys like JB are not gonna change practices over stuff like this. JB (and others) have been doing "stuff" forever. Someone mentioned their "rep"; well they've had that "rep" for as long as I can remember but drivers are still lining up at their door and they're not exactly hurting for eager customers.

JB himself once said "I don't give a damn if each one of my trucks only makes a dollar a day". Pretty hard to combat that mindset.

I admire anyone willing to make a statement, such as picketting an unfair industry, such as trucking. That being said, it would be time better spent putting that time and energy into another career field. As previous posters have stated, these companies have plenty of people lining up to go work for them. You want to make a real statement, find another career field and stop being a patsy to the trucking industry.

But ask the guy (Don) that was doing the picketing, they falsely dinged his dac, so that was his recourse because no one would hire him because of it, then he got a break when a trucking company found out what happened and gave him a job, so what he did picketing jb hunt was in his favor because it paid off in the end, i say kudos to Don for having the kahonies to do it.

I concur. That's exactly what some of these companies need. A Watchdog Society, letting them know that we won't take any s*** off of 'um.

Kudos Don. Best of Luck at your new co.
