companies to cheap to pay for fuel treatment when weather gets cold would be my guess ..was - 3 in omaha this morn ...was - 21 at my place yesterday morn and went up i 15 to shelby mt for an appt and no froze up trucks .
somtimes think some of these cos. make money by accident ....but oh dont worry when we lose money wel just find a way to screw it out of the driver lol.

I don't think it's many companies too cheap to reimburse, I think it's too many clueless drivers who simply take it for granted the truck is going to run, regardless.

Funny you should post about this..
I started in Big Springs going west through Wyoming.

I didn't count..but I did see quite a lot of trucks (I'll take your word for the #)
Figured it was the cold weather.

Was like -15f in Big Springs, topped off when I got there can't idle the truck.
APU kept me comfy and truck started fine no problems.
I didn't add any Anti Gel to fuel.
Think it makes a big difference on where you fuel and fuel level in tanks.

cut my teeth in north dakoka in the late 80s and know what cold is ...no right or wrong here and alot of circumstances go in to the scenario id just rather erorr on the over treatment side than be on the side of the road ...pay attn to way you are runnin into .

When I woke up in Rock Springs this morning it was 26 below, last night I ran over south pass and saw 42 below. That would be the reason that I've got a yard full of idling trucks last night and tonight. All my guys fun additive and I never had one gel up but they were hard starting. The only nice thing about today is that the wind didn't blow all day long.

    What if you can't idle.
My truck won't idle even though it's supposed to below 0f.
We do have APUs. But anything below -20f and it's not going to put out warm air after a few hours can't keep up.
