Biggest Tornado Chase in History Planned..

Quote:
An unprecedented $10.5 million dollar effort to understand tornadoes will send dozens of scientists into the field next month to chase the killer beasts.

Researchers from four countries and 19 universities and institutions will fan out and chase tornadoes across South Dakota, western Iowa, eastern Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, the Texas panhandle and western Oklahoma.

Oh, how I wish I could go along on this chase! You have no idea how fast I would snap up an invitation to be involved in this!!

I want to get up close and study... I want to see for myself what makes it tick... I mena, I know some of the logistics, but I want to EXPERIENCE it... being in CA, I seldom actually get to see it. Where my father will chase 4 or 5 times in year without leaving a 20 mile radius.. I have had one chase in five years and had to go almost 30 miles for it.

Might be helpful to educate those of us who have never been through a tornado especially on the road.....
I have been through earthquakes, blizzards, high winds and even flash-floods while driving...never been through a tornado though....
