Caught on tape: Pick-up truck hits semi head on

Caught on tape: Pick-up truck hits semi head on

Quote:
NEBRASKA -- An amazing scene was captured from a dashboard camera of a sheriff's car in Lincoln County, Nebraska.
A vehicle in the westbound lanes of interstate 80 lost control on icy roads, crossed the median and hit a semi-truck head-on.

"In his own driving lanes, he's passing vehicles. The other vehicles are slowing down and he's not paying any attention."

This accident, taped February 10th, on the dashboard camera of a Lincoln County Sheriff's Department patrol car is an example of how dangerous slick roads are for travelers.

"How quickly something can go wrong when you're dealing with winter conditions and icy conditions out on the roads."
The driver of the pick-up truck wasn't seriously injured. An accident further down the interstate had slowed traffic and so the semi wasn't going full posted speed.

I wonder, it almost looks like the dung-for-brains in the pick'em up jammed on the brakes when he saw the bear, causing him to spin out and wreck.
I feel bad for that trucker, what a way to brighten your day.

At least that one was an accident, a former company had a truck hit head-on by a guy committing suicide, the whole pileup burned; pickup, tractor, and a brand new reefer, all that was left of any of it was the steel and iron, even all of the aluminum burned.

The truck driver was physically unhurt but he hadn't gotten over it several months later.

It almost looks like the trucker seen it coming, he was moving slow and then stopped, ( probably in hope the Chevy was gonna miss him) Feel bad for him but that's keeping your eyes open.

If he had kept on moving, the pickup would have probably glanced off the left side of the truck and right into the cruiser.

True, and the deflection may have slowed him down a bit before he hit the cop. Or even worse the P/U would have buried himself in the trailer.
