Fiery Big Rig Crash Closes I-10 Fiery Big Rig Crash Closes I-10 3/22/07 Quote: SAN ANTONIO -- An 18-wheeler careened into a median and burst into flames on Interstate 10 Thursday night after it was cut off by another driver, police said. The impact sent the big rig's engine and axel and large chunks of concrete into the westbound lanes. Police said a truck that was about to exit Interstate 10 at La Cantera caused the crash when it swerved back onto the highway and cut off the 18-wheeler. The driver of the big rig swerved to avoid hitting the truck and lost control, police said. The 18-wheeler slammed into a concrete median and burst into flames, police said. The driver managed to jump out and escape the flames unharmed, police said. No one was injured in the crash. The westbound lanes are expected to open just after 11 p.m., but the eastbound lanes could remain closed for another four hours. VIDEO __________________ The Truckers Report Merchandise
