| I wish that truck driver was able to get out before it bust into flames and burned alive. That got to be the worst way to die. My heart goes to his family. |

| "Jones said the driver of the car was charged with possession of cocaine." This just pisses me off! My heart hurts for that trucker and his family. What a tremendous loss...

| i remember an accident here a couple of years ago where a woman on a cell phone ran off the highway, over corrected and a propane tanker swerving to miss her rolled over and the driver was killed.the one that pisses me off the most was this year on the turner turnpike a highway patrol made an ILLEGAL u-turn in front of a semi killing both men.despite the fact that the officer made the u-turn(even the other officer interviewed on tv said they were not allowed to do this except when responding to an fatal accident)they were blaming the driver saying his brakes were not properly adjusted |

The reason I ask is that the general population, which includes police officers, judges, criminal investigators, insurance investigators, and so forth most likely have driven cars and pick-up trucks. It makes me wonder if perhaps people who investigate accidents involving big trucks should be required to have a commercial license and trucking/OTR experience? It sounds reasonable to me... and I'm wondering if truckers would get a fairer shake with this as an added requirement to investigating trucking accidents. After all, how can they judge a trucker's ability or response having never driven or maintained a rig before?

| as far as the accident on the turnpike is concearned,it is clear that the officer did in fact do a u turn in front of the semi, even witnesses said this so how then can they say the trucks brakes caused the accidnt?i have to ask this becuase it sounds so proposterous to me,if the officer did not pull out in front of him the truck would have still been going down the highway brakes adjusted or not.by the way the last update on the news said the traile that had the supposed bad brakes was less than 6 mos old and they were taking the state to court.on the people who investigate theese things i think do a pretty good job most of the time, theese are educated individules with years of scientific studies, and experiance behind them, this is a case of the state not wanting to own up or be responsile for something,in the case of this crap hole state(oklahoma)this is not uncommon, over the winter a lady doing nothing wrong hit a huuuuuge pothole and flipped of a bridge down to the highway below and dies a few weeks later, the funny thing is there wer some city workers near by that saw the whole thing and before the wreck was cleared they filled the hole with asphalt.anyone who has driven in ok can tell how much our roads suck, tulsa in particular.we have been rated like 5 years straight now for the most dangerous bridges in the country, they are crubling to dust and all they do is put a band aid on them, then ask for more money for road repairs and tax us for crap they dont fix |
