I-76 WB shut down

Hi ya'll, I just wanted to let you know that the PA turnpike is shut down on the West bound side at mile marker 270. There is about a 30 mile back up and officers are routing everybody now to Exit 286. A fed ex truck hauling doubles and 2 cars where on fire. News crews and hundreds of people are around the accident site. They have tow trucks there but cannot hook up to the truck or cars because of the investagation. The road be shut down for a while I presume. Just a heads up. I quitely said a prayer for the drivers and thier families. Bad Bad accident. Please drive safe. K.B.A

I'm a member of another forum and someone got a first-hand experience of this:

Quote:
Today I was driving with my family from southern New Jersey to Louisville, KY. We've made this trip on average two times a year for the past 20 years. The biggest incident so far in those thousands upon thousands of miles has been a single flat tire. We've seen plenty of crazy wrecks, but of those only the aftermath, until now.

We were on the Penn Turnpike nearing Harrisburg. I was in my dad's e46 with my sister and dog. My brother and two parents followed in a Pacifica. The parents were usually right behind me, but at the moment we happened to be about a quarter mile apart. During this time, in between us a Fedex truck rammed another car. It was behind me so I didn't see much of what happened (I didn't want to cause another wreck). However it was in front of my parents. I stopped at the next rest stop where my parents told me to go the rest of the way without them.

Why?

The highway was ENGULFED IN FIRE right in front of them. Black smoke made it impossible to see more than a few yards. Everyone got out of their cars. My mom gave an ice pack to some lady who slammed her head. The lady's husband was limping around with a broken leg. My dad said he could see the guy's bone poking through.

I made it to Louisville safely only a few hours ago. Meanwhile my parents are in a hotel still 6 hours away. The accident happened around noon and they didn't get back on track until after 7 PM!

Anyway it is amazing what little difference a few seconds made in our case. I arrived on time, my parents won't arrive until tomorrow, and unfortunately some people never arrived at their destinations. According to the news reports 3 people died.

Heres good video:

There are two videos. The top is the news report and the bottom is the raw chopper footage. About 40 seconds in you can see my parent's Pacifica in the leftmost lane.
