I-40 reopens after fatal semi accident I-40 reopens after fatal semi accident 7/8/07 KOB.com, NM - Quote: One person died in a flaming collision between two tractor-trailer rigs on Interstate 40 west of Albuquerque Sunday morning. State Police officials on the scene sid that one semi rear ended the second shortly after 9:00 Sunday morning at mile marker 141 near the Rio Puerco. The second truck burst into flames, according to officials, and the driver was trapped in the truck’s cab. The driver of the second truck died and the cab was totally destroyed, according to authorities. Interstate 40 eastbound at Rio Puerco was closed at mid morning and didn't reopen until nearly 4:30 p.m. Officials have not identified that name of the driver killed in the wreck.
