Big rig crashes on 80/580 ramp

Big rig crashes on 80/580 ramp
7/8/07
San Jose Mercury News, USA
Quote:
A big rig slammed into the center divider on the connector ramp between interstates 80 and eastbound 580 Sunday afternoon, leading the California Highway Patrol to issue a Sig Alert as the accident snarled traffic and led to "significant" traffic delays.

CHP Officer Tracy Hoover said the accident was reported at 5:18 p.m. One lane had to be closed while Caltrans crews repaired the guardrail, she said.
The alert was lifted about 8:15 p.m., the officer said.
No other information was available Sunday night. The accident was in the same vicinity as the notorious "maze meltdown" on April 29. The ramp was closed for weeks after a fiery crash on the I-80 to I-880 connector resulted in the collapse of the 580 connector.
