Man dies in semi truck crash

Man dies in semi truck crash
7/8/07
KRQE, NM
Quote:
BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (July 8, 2007) - One man was killed this morning after the semi truck he was driving rear-ended another semi.
The crash, about 15 miles west of Albuquerque, caused the semi in the back to burst into flames.
"Truck one was traveling in the right lane," said Sgt. Kevin Bruno with the New Mexico State Police. "Truck two came in behind him, was traveling at a higher speed."
Bruno said the second truck was traveling at such a high speed that the bumper made it to the first trailer's rear axle.
The driver and passenger of the front truck only had minor injuries. The driver of the second truck died on the scene.
He's identified as Nandeep Aujla of Fresno, Calif. - and is believed to be the other truck driver's brother.
Police believe he may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
The crash closed eastbound Interstate 40 at Rio Puerco for more than six hours.
