Bishop Ford outbound lanes reopened after rollover crash

Bishop Ford outbound lanes reopened after rollover crash
7/9/07
Chicago Sun-Times, United States
Quote:
All southbound lanes of the Bishop Ford Expressway have been reopened Monday after a truck driver was critically injured when his semi truck rolled over, prompting a hazardous materials situation on the South Side.
Emergency crews responded about 8:20 a.m. after a semi truck rolled over in the outbound lanes of the Bishop Ford (I-94) at 130th Street, according to Fire Media Affairs Assistant Director Eve Rodriguez.
All outbound lanes were closed, according to Illinois State Police District Chicago Master Sgt. R. Cameron. The truck apparently spilled a non-hazardous white substance used to make cement, he said. As of about 10:25 a.m., the lanes were reopened after crews cleaned up the roadway and removed the truck. The truck driver was injured in the rollover crash and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition, according to Fire Media spokesman Richard Rosado.
