Joliet Herald News, IL
Quote:
A woman who was apparently in a compact car was killed in a head-on crash involving an empty tanker truck on I-80 in Shorewood on Friday morning.

All lanes of I-80 were reopened as of 9:30 a.m., according to Illinois State Police Joliet District Trooper Mark Dorencz. The crash occurred about 6:30 a.m., according to state police.

The crash occurred when a compact car entered the westbound lanes of I-80 near I-55 and collided with an “empty” tanker truck, Dorencz said.

The victim’s identity was not available as of 10 a.m. as the Will County Coroner’s office was working on notifying family members, according to a coroner’s office spokeswoman.

Reading between the lines, for her to have had a head on crash with a truck while she was getting on the highway, she had to have been going the wrong way.
