Missoula truck seriously hurt after bowling ball hits vehicle
KPAX-TV, MT
Quote:
A semi truck driver from Missoula was seriously injured early Sunday morning when somebody dropped a bowling ball from a Minnesota overpass.
Officials with the Minnesota State Patrol say that Ted Maki, 54, of Missoula was driving eastbound on Interstate 90 near Fairmont, Minnesota when a bowling ball was dropped from a bridge. The bowling ball crashed through the semi-truck windshield and hit Maki.
The truck then swerved across several lanes went through the median, broke through a fence and finally came to a rest in a corn field. Maki was air lifted to a Rochester hospital suffering from serious injuries. His his wife Dawn Maki, 55, who was a passenger in the truck did not have any apparent injuries.
Authorities say they are still looking for the suspect who dropped the bowling ball that hit the truck.

I hope they find that miserable Piece 'O #### and throw the book at them.

What a horrible accident, and his wife got to see the aftermath.
My prayers go out to him and his wife.

Truckers take bowling ball assault in stride

Truckers take bowling ball assault in stride

To listen to Ted and Dawn Maki tell it, you’d almost think it was just a really big bug that hit the windshield of their Kenworth truck instead of a bowling ball that could have killed them both on a Montana highway.
“The way I look at life is you just take what comes your way and deal with it the best you can and get to work putting it behind you,” Ted told TODAY’s Ann Curry during a joint appearance with his wife Wednesday. “It’s just going to be history now, and I’m OK.”
Ted, 54, sported a huge shiner on his right eye, which was still swollen almost shut. His face was also swollen, but otherwise he showed no ill effects from being hit by a 10-pound bowling ball that crashed through his windshield Sunday as he was rolling at 65 or 70 mph on I-90 just outside of Fairmont, Mont.msnbc-Video
