Big rig driver killed in bizarre accident

Big rig driver killed in bizarre accident
9/10/07
abc13.com, TX
Quote:
It happened around 4:30am on the East Freeway at Monmouth. The inbound lanes were closed for several hours at Monmouth. All traffic was diverted onto the feeder road. All lanes were reopened around 8:30am.

Authorities say the driver was travelling westbound on I-10 when the dump somehow went up, snagged the catwalk, and the whole sign structure came crashing down on top of the cab. It was crushed and the driver was ejected because police say he wasn't wearing a seatbelt. He was killed instantly.
The driver's identity hasn't been released.
There was no report of any other injuries. VIDEO
