Big Rig Crash Shuts Down I-805

Big Rig Crash Shuts Down I-805

Quote:
SAN DIEGO -- The California Highway Patrol shuts down the northbound lanes of Interstate 805 following a big rig accident during the afternoon commute.

The incident involved a semi truck that collided with four other cars just after 2 p.m., where the northbound I-805 meets state Route 54 near National City. Three lanes of the freeway were blocked and the CHP issued a SigAlert around 2:15, calling for a complete closure. It is unclear how long the closure will be in effect, but it is expected to be long termA second crash involving a separate big rig took place just a few miles to the north where the northbound I-805 meets eastbound state Route 94 near Chollas View. That crash was reported at 2:06 p.m and was cleared just before 3 p.m.

There are no reports yet of injuries from either crash.
