Fatal Accident on I-20/59 CBS 42 News

Fatal Accident on I-20/59 CBS 42 News

Birmingham, Alabgama

A deadly accident on Interstate 20/59 backs up traffic for miles on Friday afternoon.

An 18 wheeler hauling lumber dumped its load near the Arkadelphia Road exit just before noon. We're told at least one person was killed in the accident.

As for what went wrong, Birmingham firefighters have a good idea of what happened.

"It appears that the truck that was hauling wood somehow crossed the median and clipped the tail end of another vehicle. We have two injuries, one fatality...one gentleman was transported to UAB Hospital," said Birmingham Fire Rescue Captain C.W. Mardis.

Firefighters say the victim killed in the accident was the driver of the 18 wheeler.

That is the wreck I rolled up on. I never could find it online. Cyber has a way of finding things on here. They only show the trailer, not the truck. Most of the load went threw the cab. I feel for this driver and his family.
