Man Dies After Truck Plows Into Semi

Man Dies After Truck Plows Into Semi
1/28/08
Lex 18, KY
Quote:
man was killed Monday morning after the truck he was driving slammed into the back of a semi in Mercer County.
The incident happened at about 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of the Harrodsburg bypass and Bergin Road. Police say the semi had just begun to move through the intersection northbound on the bypass after the light had turned green when a truck hauling a trailer plowed into the back of it, causing the cab of the truck to go under the semi.
Police say the driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. They say it is unclear what happened, because there were no skid marks and it did not appear that the truck made any attempt to stop.
Police say the northbound side of the bypass will remain closed for several hours while they investigate.
The name of the driver of the truck has not been release pending notification of next of kin.
