Joe Topischuk says he thought he'd be pushing up daisies. He narrowly missed being killed early this morning by an oncoming semi truck.
Three semis are involved in the accident in the westbound lanes of the Trans Canada Highway, near Whitewood, and traffic in the area is going to
be slow going.

Topischuck is pleading for people to be careful out on the highways and to make sure when the pass tow trucks they slow down.

Topischuck was called earlier this morning on a call to tow a broken down semi. While he was working on the task, another semi traveling down the highway slammed ino the dormant vehicle he was trying to tow. Moments later, after calling for the Mounties for help - Joe noticed a third semi barreling toward him.
Quick thinking and luck played a factor as Joe, with nothing left to save his own life, dove under his truck. What happened in the next few minutes passed in a blur but he says something hit him in the head and he was taken to hospital.

He's ok and back out on the scene of the accident.
This is the fourth time he's been nearly killed while trying to help someone out on Saskatchewan's highways and says he may think about doing something else for a living.
RCMP are still on the scene of the accident.

My uncle has alot of friends who drive tow trucks, and most of them have stories like this one.

The truck drivers usually move over for them... the four wheelers speed on by.

I do wish people would treat them with the respect they deserve. I don't want to have to bury any of them.
