Big rig driver dies in 405 rollover

Big rig driver dies in 405 rollover
2/28/08
Long Beach Press-Telegram, CA
Quote:

LONG BEACH - A big rig driver was killed after his semi flipped over on the San Diego (405) Freeway Thursday afternoon.

Few details were available immediately after the 12:45 p.m. accident, which occurred on the northbound side of the 405 freeway at the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway interchange.
It was not clear what caused the semi to roll over, said California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Kim.

The name of the driver was not released pending confirmation and notification of his family, Kim said.
The big rig landed on top of a Volkswagen, injuring a motorist and possibly a passenger in that car, Kim added. Several northbound lanes of the 405 were shut down shortly before 1 p.m. and were expected to remain closed for an hour or more, Kim said.
